Rother Valley, Sheffield 7-8th Sept

Great racing and a great result this weekend coming away with the craft’s first race win!

As well as completing all 8 opens and 503 races, Nice but Dim Racing came away with an overall 2nd place in the tightly contested 503 category. This was the first time I had driven at Rother Valley, a 90% water course with some tricky land transitions. The skirt held together fairly well considering the massive damage at the last event, but is needing constant attention, so the panels for the 2014 skirt have been cut already.

In the open races there was no really tight racing, but i did have a big moment from a start where i caught the thrust air from an F1 and became airborne with the craft pointing vertically upwards. In the final race i manged to finish in front of Katrina who i generally my marker who I aim to beat, however there was a large craft between us that she couldnt get past.

503 Races:

Race1 Sat: Got off the line well into 3rd place where i stayed

Race2 Sat: Got into first place when the two front runners were squabbling with each other and managed to get away from them for the craft’s first win!

Race3 Sun: Spent most of the race in second but Bernie got me on the penultimate lap.

Race4 Sun: Finished 3rd managing to hold Bernie off.

A great weekend in the Sunny North, lets see if we can get the adjustable splitter hooked up for the final event of the season in two weeks!
