Started it up for the first time and the carbon frame is still in one piece…Although the engine is running rough right now it ran upto around 8000rpm and the fan didnt escape from the duct. Trying to get hold of some engine parts to get it running properly and then we shall see.

Have been hard at work on the new hover for the last week but its unlikely to be done for Rother Valley in Sheffield, which is a shame as its one of the courses i still havn’t raced before. My bag skirt would love the long water straight…

Assembly
Friday, April 23rd, 2010Have started assembling the craft, and hope to bring it to it’s first race towards the end of June.
Underneath the seat has been filled with bouyancy foam and the final floor added meaning the hull is ready for skirt fitting, although fuel tanks and the lift gearbox mounting still need to be done.

We have been assembling the duct with its stiffening ring and flow straighteners, which are now on their way to being a complete unit. The honeycomb has come out very stiff and the stators have connected in nicely.
